History

A concrete bridge built in 1936 for farm settlers in the remote Mangapurua valley, abandoned when the farms failed. It is reached by a jetboat from Pipiriki followed by a 40 minute walk, or on a canoe or kayak trip. Book transport in advance and check river conditions.
