A small red-roofed lighthouse on a rocky islet just off the York shore, viewed from Sohier Park across a narrow channel. The visit is short, so combine it with a seafood meal nearby and come at sunrise or dusk for photos.

Cape Neddick Light, usually called Nubble Light, stands on the small rocky Nubble Island, about 100 yards (90 m) off Cape Neddick Point near York. The tower went into service in 1879 and is 41 feet (12 m) tall; thanks to the rock, its light sits about 88 feet (27 m) above the sea. The station has been automated since 1987. An image of the lighthouse is included on the Voyager Golden Record. You cannot set foot on the island; it has belonged to the town of York since 1997.

The best view is from Sohier Park on the mainland, which has around 50 parking spaces. Overnight parking is not allowed there, and that includes campers. From early May to mid-October, the welcome center, restrooms and gift shop are open (as of October 2026); there are also granite benches and picnic areas. A visit usually takes just under an hour. The light is at its best for photos in the morning and evening.
