A museum on the Ohio riverfront about the boxer's career and his life beyond the ring, with film, photographs and interactive displays. Park in the nearby garages and allow an unhurried couple of hours.

The Muhammad Ali Center opened on November 19, 2005, in Louisville's West Main District on the Ohio River. Muhammad Ali and his wife Lonnie founded the nonprofit institution. The six-story building cost $80 million and has just under 9,000 m² (96,750 sq ft) of floor space. The exhibits follow Ali's six core principles: confidence, conviction, dedication, giving, respect and spirituality.

You will see an orientation theater, a recreated boxing ring modeled on Ali's Deer Lake training camp, memorabilia and interactive stations. On the third floor, two galleries host changing exhibitions. Since 2020 the center has been part of the U.S. Civil Rights Trail. Allow two to three hours. The building is a few minutes' walk from the Louisville Slugger Museum, so you can combine both visits in one day.
