A glacial lake ringed by pine forest and rock walls in the Sierra de Urbión. A short walk from the car park reaches the shore; the access road can close in snowy winters.

Laguna Negra lies at 1,750 m in the Picos de Urbión and was formed by the erosive power of ice. It is part of the Laguna Negra y Circos Glaciares de Urbión Natural Park, which covers more than 4,600 ha and is also where the Duero rises. Large pine forests cover the valleys. Several walking routes continue from the lake, including a route of about 8.6 km to Pico Urbión (2,228 m).

Access is by a paved forest road from Vinuesa over the Puerto de Santa Inés. In peak season access is restricted (as of October 2026). You then park at Paso de la Serrá and take a bus for the last 2 km. Snow can affect access and the higher paths, so check ahead in winter. The Casa del Parque visitor centre in Vinuesa can provide information.
