A clear mountain lake at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites, with a lakeside promenade and water that stays cold even in summer. A walk around the shore takes a couple of hours and suits most visitors.

Lake Molveno in Trentino was formed by a landslide and lies between the Brenta Dolomites to the west and the Paganella–Monte Gazza massif to the south-east. An analysis of the submerged forest on the lakebed dates its origin to at least 3,000 years ago. The lake is 5.1 km long, 1.5 km wide and up to 123 m deep, with a surface area of 3.27 sq km. It has been voted "most beautiful lake in Italy" several years in a row.

The circuit path is about 11 km long and takes roughly two hours. Among other things, it passes the Fortini di Napoleone and follows a panoramic trail along the eastern shore. The village of Molveno holds the Touring Club Italiano's "Bandiera Arancione" quality award. Depending on the route, it is about 25 km from the exits of the A22 Brenner motorway.
