A bowl of strange dolomite rock pillars above a small village near Lac du Salagou, shaped by erosion into towers and arches. A short marked trail winds through them; go in the cooler hours of the day.

The Cirque de Mourèze is made of Jurassic dolomite. Erosion has sculpted it into a ruin-like rock landscape in which around 70 rocks have names, such as the Sphinx, the Guardian (Le Gardien) or the Oracle (L'Oracle). The area lies near Lac du Salagou, is a Natura 2000 site and is home to 21 protected bird species.

The short Sentier des Courtinals suits families and offers a viewpoint over the cirque. The loop walk up Mont Liausson, at about 7 km, is considerably more demanding, especially the steep final climb; allow a good three hours. There is hardly any shade and it gets hot in summer; winter, spring or the cooler hours of the day are more pleasant. When the wildfire risk is high, access may be restricted. Parking is at the entrance to the village.
