A pastel-coloured town on the Temo, Sardinia's only navigable river, with tanneries along the water and a castle on the hill above. Wander the lanes of Sa Costa, then climb to the castle walls for the view toward the sea.

Bosa lies on the west coast of Sardinia, in the province of Oristano, on the River Temo, the only navigable river on the island. Above the town rises the Castello dei Malaspina (Serravalle), dating from the 12th century. Inside the castle stands the church of Nostra Signora de sos Regnos Altos, with 14th-century paintings. The colourful houses of the Sa Costa district crowd the hillside.

From the mid-19th to the early 20th century Bosa was known for high-quality leather. The old tanneries and a museum of their own recall this. The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception has remarkable frescoes. At Bosa Marina, on the coast, there are several beaches.
