Three broad tiers of waterfalls on the River Ure in Wensleydale, linked by short woodland paths from the visitor centre. They are most impressive after rain, and the stone steps by the lower falls can be slippery.

Aysgarth Falls in the Yorkshire Dales National Park consist of three tiers of waterfalls, Upper Force, Middle Force and Lower Force, spread over about a kilometre along the River Ure. The river flows there over limestone steps. The name comes from Old Norse and means roughly "open space among the oaks". Visitors have been coming here for over two centuries, among them Turner, Wordsworth and Ruskin, and the film "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" also used the falls as a location.

Public footpaths lead through the wooded valley and link the three tiers, in places by steps; at the visitor centre you will find an exhibition, a café, toilets and a car park. The falls are particularly impressive after heavy rain, and in autumn salmon occasionally leap up the steps. Sturdy footwear is advisable.
