A cultural centre on the edge of Anchorage with a lakeside village of life-sized traditional dwellings representing Alaska's major Native cultures. Check the schedule for dance and storytelling, and allow a couple of hours.

The Alaska Native Heritage Center describes itself as the only statewide cultural and educational center dedicated to all Alaska Native cultures. Six life-size traditional dwellings stand around Lake Tiulana, representing different cultural groups. The center presents eleven major cultural groups, including the Iñupiat, Yup'ik, Unangax̂, Sugpiaq, Łingít and Tsimshian. It stands on Dena'ina land.

In summer the Gathering Place stage hosts dance, games and storytelling, along with films and guided village tours of about 60 to 90 minutes. With the exhibits, allow two to three hours. Hours and programs change by season (the latest published schedule covered summer 2025), so check the current schedule before you go.
