## Route description

Leave Gdańsk through Gdynia and Puck to Władysławowo, then follow the only road down the Hel Peninsula, often just a few hundred metres wide between the bay and the open sea. At Hel there is a seal centre and a long beach at the very tip; in summer the road is slow, and passenger boats from Gdańsk and Gdynia are an alternative.

Back at the base of the peninsula, the lighthouse at Rozewie stands on the cape counted as Poland’s northernmost point. Continue west on the DW213 through farmland and pine forest, with side roads down to quiet beaches such as Dębki.

Łeba is a busy resort between two lakes and the sea. Drive to Rąbka at the edge of Słowiński National Park and walk or ride the electric shuttle to the Łącka dune, a desert of pale sand that moves several metres a year and slowly buries the forest.

Continue around Lake Łebsko to the open-air museum at Kluki, then on to Ustka, a fishing port with a lively promenade. The coast is at its best in June and September, when the beaches are quieter and the water is only a little colder.
