## Before you go

- Going-to-the-Sun Road usually opens fully in late June or July.
- Vehicles longer than 21 feet, wider than 8 feet or taller than 10 feet are not allowed between Avalanche and Rising Sun.
- Vehicle reservation rules have changed from year to year. Check before you go.

## East side vs. west side

The west side near Lake McDonald is greener and busier. The east side, around Many Glacier and St. Mary, has the best hiking and the most wildlife.

**Is there a shuttle?**
A free hop-on, hop-off shuttle runs Going-to-the-Sun Road in summer. It gets you around the vehicle size limits and parking at Logan Pass.
