## Before you go

- The road is narrow with blind bends and buses. Large motorhomes should leave the vehicle at a campsite and use buses or ferries.
- In peak season, traffic restrictions based on number plates have applied on some days. Check the current rules.
- Parking in Positano and Amalfi is scarce and expensive. Arrive before 9 a.m.

## The drive

From Sorrento, the SS163 climbs over the peninsula and drops towards Positano, then follows the cliffs through Praiano and Amalfi to Salerno. Allow a full day with stops, even though the distance is short.

Small campervans can, with care. For larger vehicles, stay at a campsite near Sorrento or Salerno and use the SITA buses or ferries.
